Two Hour Delay – Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Delayed

We will open school on a two hour delay on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. There will be no formal chapel services on tomorrow morning. Be safe and we will see you at 10:15 am. If you need before care, please contact Ms. Cropper at 301.536.4718 301.536.4718 , before care will be opened at 8:00 am.

First Baptist School of Laurel will open on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. We are expecting a moderate snow shower tonight (Monday, February 15th)  — therefore the school will open on a delay on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Before care will open at 8:00 am you may drop your child for a small fee if you are not enrolled in this program. Please call the Before and Aftercare Hotline at 301.536.4718 and arrange with Mrs. Cropper if you need to drop off your child before 10:15 am.  School will open at 10:15 am on Tuesday, February 16,2010.

As for directions onto the school campus:  Please drive into the campus on First Baptist Lane & Drive out of the campus using the detour route of a right on Arscine, to  a left onto Beckenridge and a right turn out to Cherry Lane.  Due to the piled snow on the sides of the streets, only one car can pass at a time.

First Baptist School of Laurel is closed Friday, February 12th, 2010 due to the extreme winter weather and snow removal. The school will honor the previously scheduled President’s day holiday on the school calendar for February 15, 2010. If weather permits and snow removal in the our communities takes place expeditiously, then school will most likely be open on Tuesday, February 16, 2010.

First Baptist School of Laurel is closed Wednesday and Thursday, February 10th and 11th during this blizzard warning. Please stay tuned for additional information on school opening. The school will follow the Prince George’s schedule for school closing due to weather. Please be safe and warm during this extreme weather.

First Baptist School of Laurel will open 2 hours later on Friday, January 8, 2010. Before care will begin 2 hours later at 8:00am. School will begin at 10:30am. Please be safe on the streets and highways.

First Baptist School of Laurel will open on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. School will start promptly at 8:30am. Please disregard any school closing or delay announcement from Prince George’s county public schools for Tuesday, December 22, 2009.

Your child’s teacher will call you on Sunday or Monday to make sure you are aware that school will be open at 8:30 am on Tuesday morning.

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 remains designated for early dismissal.  Students will be released at noon on December 22, 2209.   

Aftercare hours will be the same from 6:00am to 6:30pm. If the weather and road conditions become dangerous, the aftercare staff may contact you early to pick up your child prior to 6:30pm.  If you have any questions regarding Before and Aftercare please contact the Coordinator on the hotline at 301.536.4718.

In light of the severe accumulations of snow this weekend, the school administration is monitoring the snow removal process of the major thruway and secondary streets. Again, it is our policy to follow the school closing announcement of Prince George’s County Public School. Please watch your television and listen to your radio to receive the notification of Prince George’s County Public School. If we DEVIATE  from the Prince George’s School policy, then expect a call from your classroom teacher (late Sunday evening) with an update on what we will do regarding school operations on Monday, December 21, 2009. Also, check this inclement weather blog for an additional update this evening.

First Baptist School of Laurel will open two hours later, at 10:30 am.  Parents may begin to drop off students at 10:15 am and classroom instruction will begin at 10:30 am.  No before care will be provided on Tuesday, March 3, 2009.  Please be safe on the roads and call the school at 301.490.1076,  if your community’s roads are not safe to travel.
